Tuna Pase is a music lover based in Barcelona, born and raised in Istanbul with roots from Spain. Her musical journey began when she heard the timbre of the flute in the orchestra pit for the first time. Her areas of interest are electro-acoustic composition, improvisation, experimental music, sound design, sound art, alternative songwriting, audio culture, and ethnomusicology. She loves blending her areas of interest within her creations.

She plays electronics, flute, percussive objects, and sings. Her music is inspired by sleeping, dreams, nature, poetry, photography, street art, and bicycles. She performs her music and collaborates with others in an improvised manner, where she re-composes live, using the elements that build her music from scratch.

She has earned her BA in musicology and MA in ethnomusicology and continued her Ph.D. in Sound Engineering and Design program at Istanbul Technical University Center for Advanced Studies in Music. She teaches world music, popular music, music history, electronic music, audio culture, and improvisation in various universities and also loves inspiring children through workshops on music and sound.

She is also a member feminist music technology projects like Female Pressure, FLO (Female Laptop Orchestra) and Beats by Girlz. She is one of the founders of Beats by Girlz Spain which is an alternative music technology education program for females and non-binary active in Barcelona and Madrid.

She performs in concerts and festivals, and participates in projects and workshops in Europe (France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Spain), the United States, and Middle East (Turkey, Israel). Some of them are; Ensemble Modern Academy at Austria and Italy; Feldstarke at Paris and Essen; High Zero Festival at Baltimore; Share, This is Pop Experimental Music Series and NYC Resistor at New York; Young Turkish Electronic Music Composers Project in Frankfurt; Istanbul Festival at Reitberg Museum in Zurich; Musrara Mix and Light Festival in Jerusalem; Geist und Geld Foundation at Stuttgart, Museum Night at Ravensburg and Lem Festival at Barcelona. Sometime after she moved to Barcelona, she was selected as the resident artist for Gràcia Territori Sonor for the year of 2019. 

Her debut album is entitled “Discotheque Sounds From The Cemetery” (2014) which includes electro-acoustic compositions between 2006-2010. She also has live improvised albums with her band partners. “Rest”(2018) “Hazy Stars”(2014) with Barkın Engin, “Rain Harvest” (2014) with Sarp Keskiner,  “Pase, Altaba, LT Caramel in Gracia” (2016) with Eduard Altaba, Lieutenant Caramel and “Oscillation 00-12-00” (2013) with Illi Adato. She also released her “electro-acoustic pop” alternative singer-songwriter albums “Under the Tree” (2015) and “Night Music”(2016) independently on all digital platforms. She also worked as a producer at Şevket Akıncı, Celal Kadri Kınoğlu project album “Nehirdeki Melek” (2913). She also appeared on compilations like; The Anthology of Turkish Experimental Music (Subrosa 2017), Uchronia (2018) and Bloody Lines (2018), Resonancias Atmosféricas (2018), Wet Dreams Compilation Volume 1 (2019).

Also collaborated with visual artists such as Laurenz Theinert in his  project Visual Piano, Alejandra Huerta, Eda Gecikmez, Sedat Türkantoz, Serdar Kökçeoğlu, Atıl Altaş, Cotton AV (Ozan Akıncı, Kaya Hacaloğlu) and dancers Gonca Gumusayak, Mamen Aguera.
